The honest version of the NAD+ conversation
Aveo Cellular NR
NAD+ is a coenzyme every cell uses to turn food into energy, and its levels fall with age. Nicotinamide riboside reliably raises it — that part is well established. What is not established is what raising it does for a healthy person. Most trials that looked for a benefit did not find one. We think you should know that before you buy, so it is on this page.
- ✓300 mg, at the authorised ceiling. The exact daily amount permitted in the EU for nicotinamide riboside chloride.
- ✓Claims you can check. Niacin contributes to normal energy-yielding metabolism and to the reduction of tiredness and fatigue.
- ✓Evidence published in full. Including the trials where NAD+ rose and nothing else did.
NMN is not legal to sell in the EU, and we do not sell it. It has no entry on the Union List of novel foods. If you have seen NMN on sale from a European shop, it is being sold outside the rules.
Best for
For the sceptic who is still curious.
- People who have read about NAD+ and want a legal, specified product
- Anyone wanting a niacin-based energy and fatigue formula with the sourcing shown
- Readers who would rather see a null result than a testimonial
How to use
One capsule. In the morning. With food.
- 01Take one capsule in the morning with a meal
- 02Give it a month before drawing any conclusion
- 03Do not exceed one capsule a day
Why Aveo chose it
Because the alternative was to sell something illegal.
The original Aveo concept for this product paired NAD+ with terahertz frequency devices and hydrogen water. Two of those three cannot be sold with health claims in Europe, and the NAD+ form the concept named — NMN — cannot legally be sold here at all. What remained was the part with an actual authorisation and an actual literature: nicotinamide riboside. So that is the product, and the rest of the concept stayed in the notebook.
The legal part was also the real part.Where the idea came from
Three ingredients. Two had to go.
The concept behind this product was ambitious: NAD+ for the mitochondria, terahertz frequencies to energise cells at the quantum level, and hydrogen water for antioxidant protection.
Checking it against European law removed two of the three. A terahertz device sold for healing is a medical device under Regulation (EU) 2017/745 and needs conformity assessment we do not have. Hydrogen water has no authorised health claim of any kind. And NMN — the NAD+ precursor the concept named — has no Union List entry: EFSA issued a positive safety opinion in May 2026, but authorisation requires a Commission act that has not happened, and it is applicant-specific in any case.
Nicotinamide riboside chloride is different. Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2020/16 authorises it as a novel food, as a source of niacin, in food supplements for adults, at up to 300 mg a day. It has a specification, a literature, and a legal basis. So this product is the third of the original concept that survived contact with the law — and, as it turned out, the only third with real evidence behind it.

One active, four supporting nutrients.
Final quantities and the nutrition declaration are published from the approved label. Niacin is declared on the label because that is how the EU authorisation defines nicotinamide riboside.
Nicotinamide riboside chloride · 300 mg
The maximum daily amount authorised in the EU, delivered as a source of niacin. Niacin contributes to normal energy-yielding metabolism and to the reduction of tiredness and fatigue.
Magnesium · 56 mg
As magnesium bisglycinate. Magnesium contributes to normal energy-yielding metabolism and to a reduction of tiredness and fatigue.
Vitamin C · 80 mg
As sodium ascorbate. Vitamin C contributes to normal energy-yielding metabolism and to the reduction of tiredness and fatigue.
Zinc · 5 mg
Zinc has a role in the process of cell division and contributes to the protection of cells from oxidative stress.
Copper · 0.5 mg
Copper contributes to the protection of cells from oxidative stress.
Why the magnesium is low
Deliberately kept at the minimum that earns its claim, so that taking this alongside Aveo Remineral Complex stays within recommended supplemental magnesium limits.
What makes it different
A NAD+ page that tells you what it does not know.
This category is built on describing laboratory findings as though they were human outcomes. The difference here is not the molecule. It is what we are willing to claim about it.
The precursor that is actually authorised.
NAD+ rises. The rest is unproven.
Every felt-benefit statement on this page rests on niacin, magnesium and vitamin C — nutrients with authorised roles. None of it rests on NAD+.
One capsule. Each morning.
How to use it
Straightforward, and deliberately unexciting.
For adults only. Follow the approved label and do not exceed the stated recommended daily dose.
One capsule in the morning
Taken with food. There is no loading phase and no benefit to taking more.
Give it a month
Long enough to notice a real change, short enough to stop without much lost.
Judge it honestly
If nothing changes, that is consistent with the literature and a reasonable point to stop.
Both halves of the evidence
What nicotinamide riboside does, and what it has failed to do.
This section exists because the NAD+ category is built on skipping it.
What is well supported
NR raises NAD+ reliably: up to five-fold in whole blood in a Parkinson’s disease trial, and 2.6 to 3.1-fold after five to ten weeks in a long-COVID trial. It has a good safety record across clinical doses from 100 mg to 2,000 mg a day.
What has not worked
In the long-COVID trial NAD+ rose and cognition, fatigue, sleep and mood did not improve versus placebo. Most trials in healthy overweight adults found no change in body composition or metabolic health. A twin study found more muscle mitochondria but no metabolic benefit.
Our position
NR does what it says biochemically. Whether that produces something you can feel is unproven, and the honest answer to "will this give me more energy?" is that we do not know. Possibly nothing you can feel is a real outcome, and we would rather you buy this once with clear eyes than subscribe on a promise we cannot keep.
Questions before you buy
Answered without the usual stretching.
If an answer here is less impressive than a competitor’s, that is the point.
Ask the Aveo teamWhy not NMN? It is everywhere online.
Because selling it in the EU is not lawful. NMN has no entry on the Union List of novel foods. EFSA gave a positive safety opinion in May 2026, but authorisation needs a Commission implementing act that has not been adopted, and authorisations are applicant-specific. European shops selling NMN are operating outside the rules.
Will this give me more energy?
Honestly: we do not know, and the trials that looked for it mostly did not find it. What we can say is the authorised claim — niacin contributes to normal energy-yielding metabolism and to the reduction of tiredness and fatigue.
Does it repair DNA or slow ageing?
No, and no authorised claim exists for either. That language comes from laboratory and animal research and has not translated into human outcomes.
Why is 300 mg the amount?
It is the maximum daily intake authorised for nicotinamide riboside chloride in EU food supplements for adults.
What happened to the terahertz and hydrogen water part?
It is not a product. A terahertz device sold for healing would be a medical device requiring conformity assessment, and hydrogen water has no authorised health claim. We left both out rather than sell them with language we cannot support.
Can I take it with the Remineral Complex?
Yes. The magnesium here is kept low specifically so the two can be stacked within recommended limits.
Can I take it while pregnant or breastfeeding?
No — this product is for adults and is not intended for pregnant or breastfeeding women. The EU authorisation sets a lower limit for that group and this formulation is above it.
